In February of 2022 I began recording electronic music with harsh vocals and EDM influence in my Asheville, NC bedroom to express my experience as a transgender woman. Juniper Willow is meant to be an outlet for my best self to exist on stage (or in the pit), and for my anger to be expressed healthily through art. It began as a solo act, and is now a full band. Throughout 2022 I purchased a Korg Minilogue XD, released my first single Chemical, played my first shows, and began recording my first EP, "(Self Titled)". "(Self Titled)" by Juniper Willow released March 17th, 2023. In August of 2023 I joined as synth player in a punk band called Socialist Anxiety. In October of 2023 I stopped booking and playing live shows as Juniper Willow to focus on recording new material, though I still continued to play with Socialist Anxiety. In April of 2024 Juniper Willow reemerged accompanied by Elias Smith of Socialist Anxiety on drums, and Anna Lyles and Cody Lovell of Feeling Bad on bass and synth respectively. We for a brief time operated in Asheville, NC, but eventually most of us had to move cities. Juniper Willow once again recedes into recording as of June 2024.
